Wikwemikong Tourism and Six Nations Tourism Reunite for the Two Nations Cultural Experience, June 19–21, 2025

 This summer, Wikwemikong Tourism is honored to once again partner with Six Nations Tourism for the return of the Two Nations Cultural Experience, taking place from June 19 to 21, 2025. This meaningful three-day cultural exchange invites participants to engage in Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee teachings, and land-based learning while building cross-cultural connections through shared experiences.

This unique event will explore the deep spiritual and historical relationships between the two Nations through storytelling, food, land, and celebration. The event is open to all — individuals, families, school groups, special interest groups and cultural explorers are welcome to join one day or immerse themselves in the full three-day experience

 

June 19 | 7PM | Wikwemikong, ON

The evening experience will begin with a light dinner and traditional culinary & tea tastings, offering a sample of traditional foods and medicine shared by both cultures. Guests will enjoy authentic craft making of the two nations with Medicine Pouches and Two Row Wampums. As the sun sets, participants will gather under the stars for teachings on Star Constellations and the cosmology of both Nations.


June 20 | Two Nations Paddle | Wikwemikong, ON

Day 2 begins with a Guided paddle through the fishing islands of Wiikwemkoong. Participants will hear shared histories, plant knowledge, and songs, while sampling traditional food from both Nations.

First Nations paddlers are encouraged to participate in this canoe brigade. Bring your own canoe.

June 21 | National Indigenous Peoples Day – Summer Solstice Pow Wow | Wiikwemkoong

The final day culminates in celebration with the Summer Solstice Pow Wow held on National Indigenous Peoples Day. Guests will witness a vibrant gathering of drummers, dancers, and storytellers during this traditional Pow Wow, which includes:

  • The Unceded Journey & James Simon Gallery Tour
  • Lacrosse & Baagaadowewin Demonstration
  • Smoke Dance and Woodland Dance showcase
  • Two Nations Culinary Experience with Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee chefs

This day offers the perfect opportunity to engage with Indigenous traditions, meet cultural ambassadors, and join in a celebration of resilience and unity.
