With each hut equipped with propane heaters, you’ll stay warm and cozy as you enjoy the thrill of fishing in comfort, no matter how cold it gets outside.
Our Manitowaning Bay location is ideal for those looking to catch Rainbow Trout and Pike, offering some of the best fishing opportunities in the area.
If you’re into fishing for Perch, Cisco, or Whitefish, head to our South Bay hut, where the waters are teeming with these local favorites.
When you book an ice hut, everything you need for a successful and relaxing fishing trip is included. We provide a portable propane heater to keep you warm, plenty of propane, an ice scoop to help you with your catch, and pre-drilled holes, so you can get started right away without the hassle of drilling through thick ice. It’s a stress-free experience designed to let you focus on fishing and having fun.

Ice Hut Rental Rates:
Half Day – $80
Full Day – $150
Full Weekend (Friday – Sunday) – $250
On-Ice Transportation for just an additional $25. No need to worry about trudging through the snow with all your gear!
We require a 48-hour advance booking to ensure availability, so make sure to plan ahead. Bebamikawe Memorial Trail
Located at the end of Beach Rd, the Bebamikawe Memorial Trail is an easy to moderate 14km trail with scenic lookouts and vistas. The Trail system consists of an Outdoor Fitness Park with 1.5km double tract trail complete with five outdoor fitness stations and lakefront picnic pavilion. The hiking trail has over 14km of single tract rugged footpath and incorporates up to 800m of double tract trail that can accommodate mountain bikes. Educational signage is mounted at three lookouts describing the historic and ecological significance of the area. Enjoy Manitoulin Islands only professionally built trail system during all four seasons.

Fishing
Located in the heart of one of the best Rainbow Trout fisheries in Ontario, Wiikwemkoong boasts fabulous spring time action for trolling, fly-fishing and bait casting. In 2012, the Rainbow Trout fishery was showcased on the popular television show “Canadian Sportfishing” with Italo Labignan. Shoreline fishing for Rainbow Trout can be accessed on Manitowaning Bay at Buzwah Park and Two o’ clock lookout off of Wiikwemkoong Way.
Throughout the summer months anglers can fish the shallow waters of Prairie Point for Small Mouth Bass and Northern Pike while taking in the breathtaking scenery. The boat launch at Prairie Point is ideal for anglers looking to access places such as Killarney, Frazer Bay and Baie Finne as this location is a short boat ride to any of these great fishing destinations.
For the more adventurous enthusiast Wiikwemkoong boasts fabulous multi species angling in remote areas of the community that can only be accessed via guide or charter. Remember when fishing in Wiikwemkoong we ask that you fish within your limits and abide by the Ontario Fishing Regulations for Zones 10,13 and 14.
Point Grondine Park
A First Nation owned and operated recreational park, Point Grondine Park has over 18,000 acres of scenic natural wilderness landscape, old growth pine forest, stunning river vistas and six interior lakes to explore. The picturesque water trails, flowing along the coast of Georgian Bay invite you to many canoe routes, hiking trails and backcountry campsites located throughout the interior of the park. Thunderbird “Nimkii Bineshii” Park
Located in the heart of our community, Thunderbird Park plays host to a number of events including the Wiikwemkoong Annual Cultural Festival, Fall Fair Festival, baseball tournaments, and more. The track surrounding the ballpark and powwow grounds helps to promote healthy active living year round as it is transformed into a skating track during the winter months. We encourage all to attend the Wiikwemkoong Annual Cultural festival at the park every civic holiday weekend, and immerse yourself in the authentic showcase of indigenous culture.
Wikwemikong “Thunderdome” Arena
The Recreation and Cultural Centre (Arena) is located in the main village of Wikwemikong. It is the home of minor hockey and adult recreational hockey events, with a multi-purpose hall located upstairs which frequently hosts BINGO’s, fundraisers, and community events.
