Lake Manitou Manitowaning Bay
Home of the tagged fish contest, the Wikwemikong Ice Fishing Derby started in 2008 and evolved into the Manitoulin Ice Showdown in 2019 through a partnership with the Manitoulin Expositor. Anglers compete for ten top prizes on Manitowaning Bay and Lake Manitou, fishing for Rainbow and Lake Trout.
In 2020, the Manitoulin Ice Showdown reached record numbers attracting over 700 participants and giving away $70,000 in cash and prizes. The derby is held every year in February and has become a destination fishing tournament attracting anglers from across the province and beyond.
